Size

Habitat
Redfin through its abundance and wide distribution can be found in all types of inland waters of eastern Australia including Tas. and some areas of W.A. These include lakes, dams, billabongs, swamps and the slower flowing streams and rivers. They move around in small schools and congregate around snaggy areas, especially dead wood and trees in lakes, but have been known to be caught in open water.
Qualities
Can provide good sport on light tackle.

Hints
Redfin are found to be more active in the warmer months. Anchor boat to a dead tree and drop your bait to the bottom placing it as close to the trunk as possible. Bobbing or jigging can be very productive. Lures need to be fast action types.
