Habitat Striped Marlin is a free-roaming pelagic. They tend to follow the warm currents and the bait fish that travel along them. More numerous in eastern Australian waters although it is distributed from southern W.A. east to Qld, including eastern Tas. It takes its name from fourteen bluish stripes the extend across its body.

Qualities Renowned for its speed and acrobatics. A challenge for the most experienced angler.

Hints Small trolled live baits, such as slimy mackerel and yellowtail are favoured. Trolling an array of skirted lures will often attract fish. It will respond to live baits cast across its path when cruising the surface.
