Hints
Berleying is the secret for catching yellowtail which can be almost any mashed up fish flesh, bread or tuna oil. The fish go into a feeding frenzy when berley is present. When using a baitfish jig once a fish is hooked up try leaving the rig in the water. The erratic motion of the hooked fish tends to excite the other fish to strike. Most cases retrieve the jig when three or more fish are hooked. A long shank hook is good for capturing live bait so the fish can be shaken free from the hook avoiding handling.
