Habitat European Carp, an introduced species to Australia, has become extremely widespread. They are a freshwater inhabitant found from coastal rivers to alpine regions of N.S.W., Vic. S.A. and Tas. as well as in southern W.A.

bait: Bardi grub, Bass Yabbies (nippers), Corn, Dough, Freshwater yabbies, Garden worm, Maggots, Shrimp
fly: Freshwater Nymph, Freshwater Dry, Freshwater Beadhead
lure: Minnow, Spinner Blade
Tackle
Link: 6kg. main line.
Hook: No. 12 - 2/0.
Rig: Light to medium gear with a running sinker rig. Trolling and lure gear. Fly gear.
Hints Respond well to berley mix of bread crumbs and sweet corn. When fish are surface feeding in mass wet fly fishing is productive. Carp should be killed quickly and not released as they are considered a noxious pest.
