Habitat
Brown Trout are an introduced species to Australia originating in Europe. They are found in lakes, streams and rivers of the cooler temperate regions of Australia from N.S.W., Vic., Tas., S.A. and W.A. Although self sustaining populations exists in many waters fisheries departments continue to stock waters ensuring a fishery.

Hints
Trout fishing techniques vary greatly. The best methods are wet or dry fly fishing, spinning with small bladed lures, or using Glo-bugs and trailing nymph rigs on fish that gather in pre-spawning aggregations. Catch & release recommended.
