Habitat
Rainbow Trout are an introduced species to Australia originating in North America. They are found in lakes, streams and rivers of the cooler temperate regions of Australia from N.S.W., Vic., Tas. and S.A. Although self sustaining populations exists in many waters fisheries departments continue to stock waters ensuring a fishery.
Qualities
Excellent sport and somewhat challenging to catch.

Hints
Trout fishing techniques vary greatly. Best methods are bait fishing, trolling and spinning for msot small to average fish, and fly fishing for the large specimens. Trolling very early in the morning is preferred once the warmer weather arrives.
