Riverina sports fishing opening new opportunities
Jamin Forbes from Riverina Sports Fishing, based out of Wagga was looking for something different, and a trip to Glenbawn Dam to target some Australian Bass was organised. Past reports from Glenbawn were looking promising. Good numbers of bass were being caught using a variety of different techniques.
An early morning session proved productive, casting small hard bodies in and around the rocky point and drops offs, with a few nice sized Bass coming aboard. But as the middle of the day approached, Jamin and friends decided to switch to trolling to see if any more bass could be tempted to take a lure. The lures of choice were the Australian Crafted Slim Invaders, in the dark brown and natural green configurations. Take note that the AC Slim Invaders can be easily cast or trolled.
The afternoon trolling session produced the goods right away with plenty of great Bass smashing the lures. Jamin was telling me that the bass were holding in around 4-5 metres of water, so ensuring that your lures are tracking in this zone is a crucial part in catching 2 bass, and catching over 30 bass in two sessions like Jamin and friends did on this particular day. A fantastic bag of Bass in anyone’s book!

Jamin’s particularity of technique and fishing knowledge is second to none. I have been fishing with him in the past, when I was allot younger and immature, Jamin will do anything and everything to get his client’s fish, and does so day in day out as a full time guide. I recommend Riverina Sports Fishing to anyone who is heading into the Riverina area. An area that has heaps of fishing destinations, and is expanding more and more.
