Eildon Level- 31.7 % decrease of 18cm in the last 24hours
Inflow –200 m/l

Eildon Pondage
Pondage water Level- n/k
As usual bait fishermen are taking trout from 2 to 10 pounds on Mudeyes under a float and powerbait fished on the bottom. Tassie Devil lures are also working well

Goulburn River
Water release- 10,000 m/l
Oxygen content- 8.0 ppm
Temperature- 18.3

Backwaters are still the best option for anglers of all methods but the fly anglers are having the most success with beetle and hopper patterns presented to sighted feeding trout.
The evening rise has seen an increase in the Baetis mayfly hatches which is producing a few rising trout, nothing to write home about, but a good indication of what’s to come.
Recommended fly patterns are size 14 Red tags, Deer hair beetles and size 16 olive green Para duns.

Redfin are all the go on the lakes

Rubicon River
The hopper fishing on the Rubicon has slowed with the natural hoppers starting to thin out. However trout are still responding to a hopper fly that lands with a good presentation.
Some lure casters and also doing well with small bladed spinners like Jenson Insects and Celtas that are taking trout to a pound in weight.

Acheron River
The Acheron is still fishing well to all methods with bait anglers catching trout to a pound on earthworms and scrub worm. Lure casters are having success with small bladed spinners, while fly fishermen are producing trout on weighted nymph patterns and the odd trout to the hopper fly.

King Parrot Creek
Ray Butterworth from Tranquil Risers reports that a Client wanted to fish the King Parrot Creek so Ray explained the conditions he faced with low flow rates. On the day a lot of trout were spooked from the tail ends of the pools and struggled to keep the wake off the water. Ray (his client) managed 6 trout for the day with many other chances and was very pleased with his outing.

It would be nice to get a good dumping of rain while the hoppers are still about or at least an early autumn break.
