Report: Ez and I ventured out from Warneet at first light in mill pond like conditions.Anchored up then it was'nt long after splitting a few Pippies that the first King George Whiting came on board.Having BOM'S early morning forecast in the back of my mind it never eventuated, correct wind direction but not knots, great! After 11 whiting between 30 and 44 CM which were great fun on the lightest of rods with 4 LB mono, rod tip under the boat material, we moved just a little south.Again we found the ting then they stopped and Silver Trevally and Snook moved in.Decided to then go east from Warneet before the water's speed began to pick up.Ez's fresh fillet of silver was suddenly taken and a great rod bend and run was on.To our surprise, a 2 kilo Snapper then shortly after a 44 CM model.Stayed expecting and hoping for another but no show. The last move back to where we started yielded a 70 CM Hammerhead Shark that went even more ballistic as it neared the surface, bringing much joy to me as I watched Ez battle on then Tailor and a great Rock Flathead finished off the session. The action then slowed to half a dozen Cowanyoung.... Horse mackerel that will make good baits for either next time or for Port Phillip Bay.
