Buggsy, Kicky, The Don and I decided that Lake Lonsdale was the go after reading a few reports over the last few weeks. We had never fished the lake before and were not sure what to expect. After getting to the lake, it was a little late so a few beers and relaxation was the go. The next morning we trolled near the dead trees in the middle and also bait fished off the bottom with worms. It was a little quite with only some small redfin to show for our efforts. We perservered trolling an arrangement of different lures just out from where we camped and managed some more redfin (English Perch). Some of the old timers, who had obviously fished the place before, grabbed some nice bags of redfin. Could not get over the amount of Yabby pots that were out on the water. A crew from Horsham absolutely brained the yabbies and had a huge esky full of excellent size specimens. We left the lake about 6p.m. on Saturday determined to return not only to have another crack at the redfin but also bring some Yabby pots and give them a try. Cheers Thommo |
