Headed out for a shot at some Hairtail on Saturday arvo/evening. No luck, some small Snapper were caught on the baits near the bottom, & a couple of mid water baits were smashed by something that missed the hooks. The forecast rain held off, thankfully, but the 20-25kt winds showed up, which made things difficult with the boat swinging around on the anchor. This trip was for the AFA Hairtail Comp, & back at the ramp only one bloke had any success with one Hairtail, a couple of Tailor, & a monster Barracouta. Hopefully another chance to chase hairies will present itself in the next couple of weeks. |
