Fellow fishnetter and good mate JohnB and I ventured over to the west side of Fraser Island in search of a few flatties on the flatts. We used hard bodied lures and soft plastics.
Whilst the fishing was a little slow it was still nice to be out there on a nice sunny day and we brought home a few solid ones for a feed, all flatties were between 48 and 60cm with most falling to a rapala xrap 10 that I had hand painted with flouro nailpolish in pink orange and red as it was very battle scarred from Barra battles. A blue Squidgy paddletail minnow
also caught flathead and a cod around 35cm which was released.
