Satellite Loop State Outlook for A cold front lies to the east of Tasmania with a cold southwesterly stream in its wake. A high over eastern Australia will extend a ridge over Tasmania for a brief period in the evening, while a low moves south of the Bight. These will combine to produce a northerly stream on Wednesday, and as the low passes well south of the state an associated trough is expected to cross overnight, ahead of a cold front on Thursday. A trough will cross Tasmania during Friday with another to approach the west coast late evening.
