Lowrance have released today V4.1 for all their existing HDS classic Gen 1 models. Downloading it will take some time as the file is 200mb. Any units sold by CH Smith Marine can be brought in and upgraded while you wait for free.
How to install Lowrance V4.1 software upgrade for HDS Gen 1
Improvements include better bottom tracking at high speeds, Navionics Community layer support, EP60 Fuel flow sensor improvements, Large GPX file export support and a number of other enhancements.
To take advantage of the Navionics Community Data feature, users will need to register their Navionics Gold or Platinum Cards and if they have purchased these cards within the last 12 months they will receive a free upgrade of all the Community Data pertaining to the card area. So far more than 5500 user objects have been created for Australia.
Note: owners of the new Lowrance HDS Gen2 series already have this feature and must not instal this upgrade.
