Bass Popper Fly Swap
The surface strike of a bass is unforgettable and the right pooper can make the difference. Submit your bass popper and then see how others make theirs and the variations in the materials available to other tiers.

The Tiers Pattern Comments
1. Richard Carter Deer Hair Water Dragon Based on the US salamander fly. used on a sinking or sink tip line in a yoy-yo retrieve. the waggle of the fly on the rise is what gets the bass charging.
2. Clint Bauer Hard Bodied popper My new ambition is to catch a bass on fly. hopefully the flies tied in this swap will help me!
3. Dan Gober Foam Diving Kicker Frog This frog is a combination of ideas. It dives when retrieved, the hind legs kick with a pause strip retrieve. I've caught Largemouth Bass with this fly, only my friend Chet caught larger ones with it.
4. Dan Gober Chet's Izzy Itsabug I found the fly on the internet. With a few changes suggested by my friend Chet, it became a terrific fish catcher. It's durable and floats high and visible. Grandpa, who's 92, used this fly this summer, first time he's used a flyrod for years. What more could I say?
5. Rod Dailburg Diver
6. Trevor Court G.String Popper (thong popper) The name is just a silly pun. It is a small popper made out of beach thong rubber not the G.String thong. Floats all day except when it is being eaten which is often. Can also be made as a tube/slider fly but I prefer the normal.
7. Ezra Foam Back Frog A fairly simple foam fly, that looks like a frog to me. Fish probably just try to eat it because it looks alive.
8. Andrew White Bullethead Frog
9. Robert Anderson Foam Head Popper I like a small-headed relatively quiet popper for river fishing I have a couple of patterns, but will decide which I can tie best in quantity. Its good practice tying a few of the same thing!
10. Jason Jones Tullis Wiggle Bug This will be a first for me but wortha try.
