Big Fish Fly Swap
The first goal for most new fly fishers is a fish (any fish), the second goal is lots of fish, the next usually is a BIG fish. In saltwater they are real big. Spanish Mackerel, Wahoo, Dogtooth tuna, Sailfish plus other beakies and pelagics that know nothing but top gear once hooked. They also require a big fly to get hooked. Join up and share your big fish fly.

The Tiers Pattern Comments
1. Kate Howe Flashy Profile Squid 7/0 Both in and offshore game fish find squid irresistable.Tuna, sails, marlin, macks.... It is my first choice of baits for a searching pattern when probing for big fish. I designed this pattern specifically for this purpose. KH, Classic Anglers.
2. Dean Hamilton Hammer Bigeye This fly is a representation of a yellowtail. Kingies love to eat this particular baitfish, pattern works well off the rocks as well as a boat. Although the later will give you a far better chance of landing your kingie.
3. Richard Carter Mahi Mahi Fly In Fiji the locals pull seaweed on to the beach and weave in to large bulky mat. Once dry they tow it in their boats ofshore passed the reefs and anchor it with rocks tied with homemade ropes. A little seista time and later in the afternoon they fill their boats with Mahi Mahi that have congregated under the mats of dried seaweed. This is the fly I used to catch a few offshore of SE QLD, a few mates took a few of these flies when they went to Fiji and caught a few with the locals around those organic FADS.
