Carp Fly Swap Carp Fly Swap
Carp, a fish not high on a lot of Australian anglers "must catch list". But when it's all that you have readily available why not, sometimes a few carp can save a fishless weekend. I am sure there are a few closet carp fishers out there. Selective, easily spooked and a good fighting ability are some of the characteristics of carp you don't usually hear about but are true and rightly do carp deserve such praise (pity about their other destructive characteristics). You just can't toss any fly at them. Join up to share your carp fly and get some others in return. Removing a few from the water is more then just fun, it helps our native fish as well.

The Tiers Pattern Comments
1. Shaun Branden Olive Wooly Worm I'm going to try a soft bodied version of the wooly worm, as seen on http://www.ozemail.com.au/~tpnet/fly/wooly.html
This fly feels soft to the fish and so is held onto longer, however if I'm unable to do a decent job on them I will do a normal wooly worm & something else.
2. Richard Carter Purple Carp Bugger A pattern I got from a US magazine, works well on cruising carp.
3. Andrew White Fuzzy Bread Fly Hackled bread immitation.
4. Dean Hamilton Orange Head Nymph I was given this fly by another tier who swears by it as a top carp killer. I haven't scored on it yet, but as I said he swears by it.
5. Kevin McDonald Clouser Swimming Nymph According to the book, 'Carp on the Fly', this pattern is the authors first choice when targeting Cyprinus Carpio.
6. Romana Challans Oscar's Rhyacophila Nymph A friend of ours tied this marvellous nymph in a US fly swap - caddis swap. I was much taken with it. A neon green and black caddis nymph, I think any carp would love this one.

7. Gary D. Smith Beadchain Nymph A small brown nymph that rides very near the bottom with the hook point up, similar to a clouser deep minnow.
8. Ross Rowe Green Nymph
