Dry Fly Swap Dry Fly Swap
Some say the only fly fishing is dry fly fishing. Regardless of your views on that, the dry fly does have something special. The visual bonuses while fishing the dry are well documented. Tying a good dry fly is an art all by itself. Easy to tie dries & effective dries make the use these flies in reach of all anglers regardless of experience.

The Tiers Pattern Comments
1. Colin Hutchinson Royal Wulff Plump Beetle - like imitation, ideal in failing light where the white calf hairs come into their own.
2. Peter Woodhouse Tups Indispencible The Tups has a reputation of being the best allround fly of the century, best fished on the drift using short jerky moves.
3. Laurie Ellul Parachute Adams A highly visible fly that sits seductively in the surface film. A general purpose fly that seems to work under many conditions from bright sunshine to last light.
4. Andrew Hatton Red Tag A really good all purpose fly.
5. Ashley Morrow Elk Hair Caddis An effective yet versitile fly tied mainly in 12 and 14. Can be fished either dead drift or skittered seductively across the tails of pools and runs to imitate the adult egg laying insect.
6. Haggis Daddy Long Legs (Crane Fly) A great dry fly, Rainbows will come 3ft out the water to take one of these, and miss a lot too, gets the addrenalin going when it does miss, but it usually comes back for a second go so don't move it !!! Easy to tie too, legs are a bit fiddly but easy once you've done a few. Brings back memories just thinking of tying one - got my biggest fish on one of these. 7.25 lb Rainbow, 3lb tippet, I had too run around a lot too.
