Beaded Caddis Nymph
Beadhead Freshwater
Hook : Standard
dry fly hook 12 - 16.
Thread : Coffee colored 8/0 Guidebrod or Uni.
Body : 4 green seed beads.
Thorax : Grizzly saddle hackle.
Wing : Stacked deer body hair. |

Tying Instructions
1) Flatten barb and slide four seed
bead onto hook shank, place hook in vise and start thread at
bend.
2) Make a large enough thread bump to stop the beads from sliding
down bend.
3) Push a bead against the thread bump and wrap thread in front
of it a couple of times.
4) Repeat this process till all beads are secure.
5) Tie in a grizzly saddle hackle by the tip and make 6-10 tight
wraps around the shank.
6) Trim off extra and set aside for next fly.
7) Clean and stack a clump of deer body hair and tie in on top
of the shank behind eye
8) of the hook, make several tight wraps to flare the hair.
9) Trim the butts at a angle to form the head of the fly. This
basically the same process used to tie a CDC and elk fly.
10) Wrap head below trimmed butts and whip finish and cement. |

Fish in moderate flow conditions or
in still waters leader will need to be greased.
This fly is mainly for trout species, but works well for warmwater
species
that eat lots of insects. |
