Bendback Variant Baitfish Saltwater Hook : 34005kess 1/0 Thread : Black. Eyes : 3mm silver stick on with black pupil. Head : Colored to suite color of fly coated in epoxy. Tail : red flashabou or Krystalflash Rib : Silver flashabou tied as body or braided body. Underwing : White bucktail. Overwing : Colored bucktail, tied in red blue black or pink. Lateral Line : Pearl Krystalflash in color to suit the upper wing color.
Tying Instructions It is a very simple fly to tie, just make sure you get a nice rounded head with the epoxy.
Fly Notes
Fishing Notes Flathead are the primary target species although you will occaisonally pick up the odd incidental catch. A leader of about 7 foot long with a fairly heavy but section helps this fly to roll over. It helps to use a good shock tippet as the Flathead teeth can get a little rough. Retrieve in short sharp strips and you can put a bit of pace in the retrieve if things aren't happening.
