Hook : Tiemco 800s size 2 - 6.
Thread :
Black.
Tail :
Black marabou.
Body :
Black chenille or wool if that's all you have, Black hackle.
Wing :
Peacock or black Flashabou or Krystalflash on the end of a 3 inch long piece of 50lb mono.
Eyes :
Plated lead dumbbell.

Tying Instructions

1) Burn the end of a piece of 45lb mono to form lump on one end
2) Place mono in your vise and lay down a little bed of thread 3 - 5 mm long
3) Take a clump of your wing material and tie in with material over vise
4) Fold back bullet head style and tie off thread - set aside
5) Place hook in vice
6) Lay down a bed of thread
7) Cut the piece of mono with flash wing on it to length. This length = 2.5 times hook shank length
8) Tie to bottom of hook shank with mono and flash wing extending past hook eye
9) Attach tail material at hook bend
10) Tie in hackle by the tip at hook bend
11) Tie in chenille at the hook bend
12) Advance thread to hook eye
13) Tie in plated lead dumbbell eyes at hook eye
14) Wrap chenille towards the hook eye forming an even body
15) Palmer hackle over body
16) Bend downwards the mono till at right angles with the hook shank
17) Take the heated tips of some long nose pliers hold against the mono at the hook shank. This to permanently fix the angle to the mono
18) Again heat the tips of the long nose pliers in a candle flame and then grab the mono half way between hook shank and flash wing, fold over at 90 degrees with wing material over the hook point.

Fly Notes

Fishing Notes
Medium length leaders, fast sinking lines. Count down the fly to the desired depth and give an erratic retrieve.
Target species include, Trout, Australian Bass, yellowbelly and cod. Works in the salt too for mulloway, and mangrove jack.

Location Notes
Underwater humps/hills with bass schools showing on the sounder. Steep banks.

Prey Notes

Attractor pattern, though could be representative of a bait fish at a stretch.
