Hook : Black
Magic G8 or Mustad 80250BR #8-12.
Thread : Brown 6/0.
Eyes : Polystyrene 'beanbag' balls wrapped in stocking.
Tail : Brown marabou.
Body : Copper Lite-Brite dubbing.
Wingcase : Brown raffia. |

Tying Instructions
1. Tie in marabou tail thick and trim
short.
2. Wrap 2 equal size polystyrene balls in stocking material and
twist to make firm.
3. Tie in eyes at front of hook and criss-cross through both
eyes.
4. Take thread to tail.
5. Form dubbing loop.
6. Dub with Lite-Brite to just behind eyes.
7. Tie in raffia, dub rest of body.
9. Pull raffia down over eyes and tie off just behind hook eye. |
Fly Notes |
Fishing Notes
Fish with fast sink line along bottom,
fly will ride above bottom because of polystyrene eyes. Try a
shortish leader 5'-7' and use a long, jerky retrieve with long
pauses.
Target species includes, Trout, Australian Bass. |
Location Notes
Fished late afternoon into night around
weedbeds and moderate sloping shorelines. |
Prey Notes
Representative of mudeye with added
buoyancy to fish just off bottom. |
