Fly Notes
Pattern, a creation of Kaj Busch,
appeared in issue 14 of Flylife. Can be tied in a number of different
colours and sizes. The splayed tail provides an enticing, pulsating
kick when retrieved and acts like an outrigger to help balance
the fly.
This pattern has proved effective on a variety of species, depending
on size/colour combination. I use a size 8/10 version with red
grizzly hackles and small dumbbell eyes for whiting and herring
here in W.A. Size 2/4 is effective for walking the flats and
the larger sizes for our top end targets. |
Fishing Notes
Generally fished with a short, sharp
retrieve to take advantage of the tails distinctive 'kick'. |
Location Notes
Excellent pattern for walking along
the sand flats casting to cruising fish. |
Prey Notes
Generalist or attractor pattern. Can be taken for as a prawn
imitation. |
