Fly Notes
This fly is also tied in black, olive
& gold. Depending on size and colour it will imitate leeches,
damselfly nymphs, dragonfly nymphs or even small baitfish and
tadpoles.
Can be colored to imitate most any baitfish. Carry some all white
or all opalescent flies and color them to match the prey fish
you find while on the site. Size of the flies are only limited
by the size of materials you can find to build them. |
Fishing Notes
This fly is from the book Carp on
the Fly, A Flyfishing Guide. They offer this advice on using
this fly, "Fish this fly deep. Fish this fly shallow. Fish
it slow. Fish it fast. But fish it."
May be used to catch any predatory fish. |
Location Notes
As we don't have carp here in Western
Australia (as far as I know), I haven't fished this fly in Australia
but it has fooled a few carp (up to 5 pounds) back home in British
Columbia. |
