Distressed Dragon Fly Terrestrial Freshwater Hook : Daiichi 2451, sizes 8 - 4 or any large dry fly hook. Thread : Black 3/0 - 6/0 would also be OK. Eyes : Small black mono - Optional. Head : Closed cell foam wrapped in Green Peacock herl. Tail : Bucktail (Blue mostly but red, olive, chartreuse, green work too). Rib : Black thread. Wings : Grizzle Cock hackle tips. Hackle : Cock hackle to match tail colour or Grizzle as preferred.
Tying Instructions When drying fly ensure wings are flat as what ever position they dry in they stay in.
