Fly Notes

Fishing Notes
Will catch all small pelagic species that feed on the surface hammering the huge schools of EYES that move inshore and into our estuaries in the Sydney region during winter. When casting to a school a retrieve is not usually necessary,. If nothing happens a few seconds after the fly hitting the water, use a varied retrieve, a few fast strips, then let it free drift a savage strike will usually be the result.
Target species include fast moving surface feeders - Australian salmon, tuna species

Location Notes
1) Usually cast to schools of surface fish feeding on small white bait fish, generally in winter for salmon (Saltwater salmon)
2) Used anywhere fish fed on small whitebait especially drops-offs near sand flats, i.e. targeting flathead and bream.

Prey Notes

Fished to represent the small baitfish that hit our coast in the cooler months often referred to as eyes or whitebait.
