Fishing Notes
Targeted species, this fly, yet another
wooly bugger variation, was designed to target Steelhead (sea-going
rainbows) on the West Coast of North America but other Aussie
species of fish would no doubt be attracted to this pattern. |

Prey Notes
Although an attractor pattern designed
to entice the aggressive nature of returning steelhead this pattern
could be mistaken for (with a little imagination) juvenile marron,
mudeyes, or leeches.
The bead chain eyes serve several purposes. They add a trigger
for a fish to hone in on; the added weighted up front provides
the fly with an undulating retrieve when "strip-pause-strip"
is employed. They also add a subtle flash to the fly. |
