Green Glow Fly
Baitfish/Crustacean Saltwater
Hook : No.6
Gamagatzu bait keepers.
Thread : Black.
Body : Fluoro pink tube.
Throat : Marabou.
Eyes : Silver or gold bead chain. |
|
Tying Instructions
1. slide tube onto hook and attach with thread.
2. tie in a small clump of marabou at eye of hook.
3. trim off and form a small head.
4. attach eyes and whip finish.
5. tie on and happy swoffing. |
Fly Notes
Attractor pattern.
Barbs on the hook shank stop the tube from sliding down.
Any color thread & throat marabou can be used. Black marabou
is a good choice for night fishing.
You can use lead dumbbell eyes if you want the fly to sink faster. |
Fishing Notes
Target species Bream. A jerky retrieve
works best because it makes the marabou flicker a lot more giving
the fly a better swimming action. By holding the fly under a
fluoro light for a minute or two, or by using a camera flash,
the pink tube will glow for enough time to get about two casts
in. You can use this fly through the day and still get good results
with it. |
Location Notes
Typical Bream haunts - oyster leases,
rock outcrops, bridges, pylons. |
Prey Notes
Suggestive small baitfish & crustacean. |
