Fly Notes
Tied by David Dodd, I was given this fly to use at Millbrook Lodge Lake during a Trout School Weekend, resulting in four fish. This fly is derived from a Tom Jones, but is an all olive coloured pattern with a copper wire rib using dyed olive kangaroo fur for the wings.
Weighted version can be made by wrapping lead under body material or by making fly with a beadhead instead of a thread head.

Fishing Notes
Used for both blind casting weed patch edges and specifically targeting smelting trout. Very good low light fly, even into dark or late evening.
Target species Trout. Can be targeted on any baitfish eating species, just adjust size accordingly.

Location Notes
Shallows where large trout are chasing smelt. Retrieve over drop offs or near edges of weed patches.

Prey Notes

Baitfish profile fly.
