Hook : Size 10 extra long shank.
Thread :
White or colour to match body.
Eyes :
Small silver beadchain.
Rib :
White tying thread or fine silver wire.
Hackle :
Hen, colour to match body.
Body :
Olive chenille.
Back :
Ostrich herl or raffia.
Tail :
Brown calf hair split into 2 bunches.

Tying Instructions

1) Tie in eye's about ¼ length of shank from turn.
2) Tie in a small bunch of brown calf hair and then split into two bunches.
3) Tie in 4 or 5 strands of ostrich herl.
4) Tie in a hackle with long barbels.
5) Tie in chenille.
6) Wrap chenille to just past eye's usually about 2 turns past eyes.
7) Wrap hackle over chenille down to where you stoped about 4 times.
8) Tie off hackle.
9) Continue chenille to eye of hook.
10) Pull ostrich herl over to eye of hook and then wrap thread over herls up to eye.
11) Whip finish.

Fly Notes

Fishing Notes
When retrieving this fly use either a really slow constant retrieve (like the figure of 8) or a fast short jerking action.
Target species include, Freshwater - Redfin trout carp cod bass and most perch & Saltwater - Bream flathead whiting snapper estuary perch.

Location Notes
Fish this fly along the edge of weed beds over gravel bars and sand bars or any yabby beds that you know of.

Prey Notes

This fly is meant to imitate a small yabby or crayfish.
