Thread : Copper wire.
Body : Copper wire.
Thorax : Pheasant tail.
Wing Case : Pheasant tail.

Tying Instructions
1. Attach the copper wire to the shank of the hook and wind on
forming a small hump at the thorax then back to the bend of the
hook.
2. Attach the tail -body fibres at the bend of the hook extending
1/2 the length of the hook shank beyond the bend.
3. Twist the cooper and pheasant tail into a rope then wind on
to the front of the body section unravel the copper and secure
the pheasant tail.
4. Attach the wing case material behind the thorax and secure.
5. Retwist the copper and pheasant tail and wind on to the front
of the hook and secure.
6. Pull the wing case over the top of the thorax and secure.
7. Finish off the head and varnish. |
Fly Notes
Fly originated around 1930 by Mr Frank
Sawyer who was the keeper on the river AVON in Wiltshire England.
The fly won acclaim world wide for its fish taking capability. |
Fishing Notes
Best fished at or near the bottom
on the drift in moving water or in short slow & fast moves
and rises in still or sluggish waters.
