Tying Instructions
Start by placing the bead on the hook.
Attach thread to hook and tie in 3 pieces of Krystal Flash at
the rear of the hook. Two pieces can be short but one should
be long enough to wind for the rib. For the body you can dub
on a burnt orange squirrel blend. Or per the original, snip off
some fur right next to the skin from the back of a fox squirrel,
cut it up with scissors, mix in a little cut up orange antron
and then dub and wind. Stop the body an eye length back from
the bead. Wind the rib forward and tie off. Tie in the chenile
and wrap a turn or two up to the bead. Put a little head cement
on the back of the bead and rub it off with the thread as you
tie off with your favorite finish. Clip the tails so they extend
a bit beyond the bend of the hook. |
