Purple MOS
Crustacean Saltwater

Hook : Size 6 - Tiemco 811s (or equivalent - Mustad 34007).
Thread :
Black.
Tail :
Purple or black marabou, rabbit fur, Ultrahair, kinky fibre, fleece, or HiVis.
Claws :
Dyed purple grizzle hackle tips.
Eye :
Gold bead chain.
Body : Silicone with mixed in purple craft glitter. Light coating of epoxy.

Purple MOS

Tying Instructions
1) Lay down a bed of thread from hook eye to hook bend.
2) Take thread back to 1/4's along hook shank from hook eye.
3) Tie in at this point some beadchain eyes.
4) Tie in purple marabou tail wrapping past hook bend.
5) Form a lump of thread before the start of the marabou.
6) Get two purple grizzle hackle tips.
7) tie these in one each side, wrapping thread up tightly up the lump of thread made in step 5
8) this will cause the hackle tips to splay outwards, if not take your thread inside of hackle to assist in splaying effect.
9) Take thread back to hook eye and tie off.
10) Mix some silicone with your craft glitter mould into standard MOE diamond shape.
11) Allow 24 -48 hours for silicone to dry.
12) Then apply a very light coating of epoxy.
13) Allow to dry then go catch some fish.

Fly Notes
You could use coloured marker pens over the silicone before the epoxy coating if no glitter available.

Fishing Notes
Let sink to the bottom, which periodic twitches. Long leaders and/or sinking lines.
Target species include bream, in smaller sizes whiting. Also Indo Pacific permit, trevally, other crab eaters.

Location Notes
Rock platforms and surrounds, weed beds and other locations crabs might inhabit.

Prey Notes
Purple Rock Crab imitation.
