Hook : No.1 O'Shaughnessy hook.
Thread :
Purple Gudebrod nylon thread.
Eyes : Large bead chain.
Wing : Red bucktail with pink crystal flash.
Tail : Grizzly saddle.

Tying Instructions

1) First secure the thread on the hook with a few round at the middle of the hook.
2) Tie in a small amount of red bucktail secure it.
3) tie in one grizzly saddle on either side of the hook.
4) tie in more red buck tail this time.
5) tie in the large bead chain eyes before the hook eye.
6) After securing the eyes, thread the thread back to the hook bend and tie in the pink crystal flash.
7) Secure the crystal flash with several thread turns and trim off excess.
8) Finish it off with a few half hitches.
9) Apply head cement and go fishing.

Fly Notes

Fishing Notes
Target species is Flathead. Normal set up as would normally fish for Flathead. Cast as close to drop off as possible and let it sink to the bottom before slow stripping it back. Work against the current if possible.

Location Notes
Performs in all conditions, ie backwater, lake edges, rock platforms, open water, bridge pylons, sunken trees. Timing of fishing effort is best at dusk and dawn. Best fish when there are drop offs.
