Tying Instructions
1) Tie thread behind hook eye.
2) Tie in dumbbell weight about 1/4 length of hook shank behind eye of hook figure 8 securely and apply a drop of superglue if you prefer.
3) Flip hook over in vise and tie in underwing of Sea Fibres, length should be 1-1/2 to 2 times the length of the hook shank. Underwing needs to be tied in opposite the lead eyes and should point up at about a 45 degree angle.
4) Tie in a small clump of bucktail slightly longer than the Sea Fibres, right against the fibres so that it also stands at about a 45 degree angle.
5) Tie in 2 long strands of dark Super Hair (brown or black) these should be tied on top of the bucktail wing. Tie them in at the 2/3 point of the strand and then fold the short end over and over wrap with thread to lock in place.
6) Form a smooth head of thread and tie off. This finishes the actual tying portion of this fly. All materials should be tied on opposite the dumbbell eyes and protrude up at about a 45 degree angle to make the fly more weedless.
7) There are two ways to complete the fly one is by adding the carapace and eyes directly to the fly. The other is to build the carapace and eyes on wax paper and then bond to the wing of the fly with a light coat of silicone or goop. I prefer the first because it gives you more control over the finished fly.
8) Take your eyes, in this case two beads of black plastic beadchain, and apply a small dab of goop to the wing slightly below the hook point.
9) Secure the thread portion of the plastic beadchain to this.
10) Next apply a small stream of silicone or goop as the shell, from the eye of the hook to the eyes on the fly.
11) Apply soap to fingers and shape as you please, do not let any of this material extend past the hook point otherwise you will loose fish due to bad hook ups!!! The fly material will work as a weedguard but bend down out of the way when a fish strikes exposing the hook point.

Fly Notes

Fishing Notes
Cast to likely feeding areas and retrieve with short strips, causing the fly to jig off the bottom. Can be worked in and around heavy cover due to weedless qualities.
It can be used for any fish that likes crustaceans from whiting to tarpon in the salt, and bluegill to pike in fresh.

Location Notes

Prey Notes

This fly is designed to mimic small crustaceans, by changing colors and adding a few materials you can mimic, grass shrimp, mantis shrimp, yabbies and even small lobsters.
