Thread : Yellow.
Tail : Yellow saddle hackle barbels.
Body : Silver tinsel, olive larva lace.
Wingcase : Dyed olive mottled turkey wing feather.
Legs : Dyed olive cock hackle.
Eyes : Green/olive plastic beadchain. |

Tying Instructions
1) Tie in thread at hook bend.
2) Tie in several long barbels from a yellow saddle hackle. Saddle
hackle because the barbels are softer and will move more than
cock hackle barbels.
3) tie in tinsel.
4) Tie in along top of hook shank the olive Larva Lace for 3/5ths
of hook shank.
5) Wrap hook shank with tinsel with out any gaps - Tie off and
trim excess.
6) Wrap over tinsel with Larva Lace - Tie off and trim excess
- again no gaps in Larva lace.
7) Tie in eyes a few millimetres from hook eye.
8) Tie in Wingcase material with ends towards the rear of fly
at end of Larva Lace.
9) Tie in hackle cock hackle and palmer closely up to eyes -
tie of.
10) Trim top of palmered hackle.
11) Using your dubbing needle as a fold point, fold over your
wingcase from a few millimetres toward the rear of the fly from
the start of the legs section.
12) Tie off wingcase behind eyes, also in front of eyes - trim
excess.
13) Wrap around eyes and head with the thread to hide any wingcase
material showing in this area - Tie off and trim excess.
14) Give wingcase a little lacquer or clear nail polish to add
a sheen to it. |
Fly Notes |
Fishing Notes
A slow steady retrieve, with long
pauses. Leader length will vary with spooking fish and clear
water. Fly line type again will vary based on what part of the
water column the fishing are holding and cruising.
Target species include trout. |
