Stick Caddis
Nymph Freshwater

Hook : Size 10-14 (long shank better, but standard ok).
Thread :
Black (or brown).
Body :
Black (or brown) tying thread.
Head :
Yellow floss.
Hackle :
Small white or cream hackle.

Stick Caddis

Tying Instructions
1) Use tying thread to build the body with a slight triangular taper narrowing to the bend of hook.
2) Tie thread forward to leave room (c.2mm)for the head.
3) Tie in yellow floss and wind forward to eye of hook to form head, then back towards the body
4) then secure with tying thread behind the head.
5) Tie in small white or cream hackle behind the head and make 2 turns before securing behind the head varnish head.

Fishing Notes
Use a slow twitching/jerky retrieve with short pauses every 10-15cm.
Target species Trout.

Location Notes
Shallow margins of lake or around drowned trees or rivers.

Fly represents a stick caddis.
