Talon Metal & Red Other Freshwater Hook : Most sizes. Thread : Black. Tail : Black feather and a metal thread. Body : Metal cotton. Hackle : Red tied palmer style.
Tying Instructions 1- Wrap shank in metal thread. 2-Tie in feather for the tail, with a metal thread or two mixed in. 3-tie in hackle at hook bend near tail, then wrap palmer style up to hook eye and tie off.
Fly Notes
Fishing Notes Fish take it free drifted or short retrieve. Targeted species, I think most fish would eat this fly but its mainly a trout fly - snowy mountains NSW.
Location Notes Can be used anywhere, seems to get eaten in most places.
Prey Notes It's a good question as to what it represents, but fish eat it and that's what matters.
