Fly Notes
Developed on large Brown Trout habitating
a Sydney lake. |
Fishing Notes
Fished to represent the menu item
mudeyes or forage fish. As a gudgeon it is best fished with 12
inch strips with long pause in between allowing the fly to rest
back on the bottom or hover unweighted before darting off again.
Is deadly on spawning river fish cast up and across.
Used successfully on cruising Browns in lakes and spawning Rrainbows
in the Warragamba tributaries. |
Location Notes
Typical location details -
Fished unweighted with mono eyes in shallows near surface morning
or evening as with standard mudeye fishing or can be effective
fished deep with lead eyes later in the day- if mudeye shells
are on the tussocks then they are on the menu.
In areas where the motley coloured gudgeon is found you can use
the mono eyes style polarioding to shallow cruising browns or
search the drop-offs with the lead eye version. |
Prey Notes
This fly has the natural movement
that fish love, and was designed to be a gudgeon but took mudeye
feeders as well. |
