3 Tie in a bunch of olive rabbit( bits with straight shinny tips
are best) it should sit at a 45 degree angle ( this can be best
achieve with thread and dubbing after it has been secured tightly

Fly Notes
Original tier, John Lanchester - the
original pattern actually called for the use of Olive Wallaby
fur. |
Fishing Notes
Unweighted it can be fished in shallow
water around weed beds etc.. it performs well as an upstream
nymph and as an added chance when the drift finishes you can
add life with rod movement and fish it across and upstream slowly
giving a smelt presentation. Great lake prospecting fly.
Targeted species, Trout. |
Location Notes
Has worked everywhere imaginable for
me though not made for polarioding
it has been the fly
of the day walking lake shores, best like damsel nymph or stripped
for a smelt pattern. |
Prey Notes
Smelt, generalist, nymph, - I have
had caddis and damsel nymph feeders take it with relish on occasion. |
