Fishing Notes
This fly is the middle fly in a standard Loch style rig of three
flies with an attractor fly like a carrot fly on the lead and
an English hopper as the point fly.
From a boat cast the over an area in a fan approach. One at 10
o'clock, one a 10:30 o'clock etc till at 2 o'clock take a step
or two forward and repeat.. on the lift off 'skitch' or dabble
the flies across the surface so they form a wake. Beast of windy
days with lots of wave action. See UK websites, Peter Hayes
(from Tasmania) and a few articles in Flylife and Tasmanian Boating
and fishing monthly for more info on this method.
