Hi All,

Planning our first family road trip up the east coast of Australia departing from Melbourne, we have no set agenda and would like some suggestions as to where you would recommend to visit along the east coast of NSW and into SE QLD the only destination l need to get to is the Gold Coast for the theme parks for the kids.

I have four weeks off and will be towing a van, my intention was to do the east coast from above Bermagui as we have visited Eden, Merimbula, Bega on numerous occasions before.

I was thinking of utilising 3 weeks to travel as far up as l could up the coast then spend the the last week coming home inland.

Please advise any destinations you would recommend that l should visit along the way and any particular caravan parks that you would recommend and any that l should stay away from.

Travel period will be during March.

Also l have no intention to book any caravan parks as it is not the peak season do you think this will be OK as our stay at any one placed will depend if we enjoy the area

Thanks in advance.

Regards
John

G'day mate.

we live in central west nsw and go to shoalhaven heads every winter for seven nights. the tourist park is called shoalhaven heads tourist park and right on the river and one minute walk to the ocean, which is seven mile beach and a good fishery. The rates are reasonable and ammenities pretty good. shoalhaven heads is between wollongong and nowra. they have a pretty good website. The nsw school holidays start at easter for two weeks and the park can get reasonably busy during this time.
