This is the best news Ive had all week. At last I can have a rest, its been tough week. Everyone who emailed, rang, voted on polls and created awareness has helped do this.
As of last night the Vic Labour Party was our only hope left and sure enough with a bit of gentle encouragement from a few key poeple they moved strongly today. Special thanks to Paul Worsteling for his behind the curtain work these past few days. Sleep well tonight Viccos.

Thats Great. This has really been a big year in regards to us recreational fisherman saving our sport. First this year we had the issue of almost being told how far out we could take out trailerboats. Then we had the issue with the Mako's and now the extra marine parks.
With the help of high profile people in our fishing community and us fisho's I really don't think everyone realise's how powerful we can be. These victory should be making us more sronger and united for any future battles that will come our way.
Cheers. |

This is a big win for fishing groups & every fisho in Victoria.
It shows just what can be achieved when fishos get together & form a united front to fight these threats.
I think every person on this forum deserves a big pat on the back.
I think special praise, & sinvcerest 'thanks' must go to the Likes of winga, worsteling, & the other 'high profle' IDs that have fought for us. Without their help we may not have pulled this one off.
However, without wanting to pur cold water on this brilliant achievemnt I would offer this warning;
Do NOT be complacent.
If you think this is the last you have heard of this proposal then think again.
These green groups are extremely dedicated in their aims if nothing else.
They WILL come back at us. Have absolutely no doubt about that.
They are extremely well organised, very well cashed up, & they know how to lobby politically.
We need to keep the good work that this issue has kicked off, going.
We need to be ever vigilant & keep both eyes open for the next attempt they will make to bring fishing to an end, & it WILL come.
Above all, we need to continue the fight to unify all fishing, hunting, & outdoors groups & individuals together for the good of all.
"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."
(Edmund Burke)
Bill.
Lastly. Although I submitted my recent post regarding BCF/Ray's before reading this one, & hence after the fact, I would still encourage everyone here to take all actions to ensure that these two companies cease all dealings with VNPA & any other groups or individuals whose aim it is to remove your right to fish in Victoia. |

This is great news without a doubt !!!!!!
Now open your eyes !!!!!!
The election is close & Labor & Greens are siding together or am I wrong ?
Be smart & think about this !!!!
It will start again if these powers get in ...
Look back !! Libs did it & now I see no good for rec fishing in the future .
Bend over & brace yourselves people....
Greens do what is best for them & them only !!! Thats why they jump from ship to ship as they need to side with those in power to get what they feel needs to be done to help their cause ...
