The Yelowfin were mainly around 35 to 40 kg with a few 70's thrown in. They seem to have have moved on though. I haven't heard of any fin up here in the last 2 weeks, but there are more and more Blue Marlin. Out of 5 boats I talked to yesterday there were 6 blues Tegged and Released including one we got. This bite has been going on for a very long time now.

Ken's Blue 13/11/2011
Angler: Ken Thompson
Ken's Fisrt Marlin
Species: Blue Marlin
Boat: Pakula
Skipper: Peter Pakula
Fight time: 25 mins
Tagged and Release 9.15am
Lure: Pakula Softease Violeta Rat

This was the first time the new crew of Pakula went out chasing Marlin. Great to get a result in the first hour with the new crew. All did very well.

Anth I think it's just camera angle. I put 140kg on the tag card. Good size for first time angler and crew who both did a great job.

There are certainly much bigger getting caught. It's just hard to pick the weather here and it's storm season.

A lot of the Blues are getting caught in quite close in 70 fathoms which is way inside the main current and in quite cool water.
