Hi all,

Decided to explore some Mulloway areas in Western Port, what I found was surprising. Along with the crabs, worms and bait fish were Moreton Bay Bugs and not a few either. From what I researched these are hard to come by, maybe these are apart of the Mulloway diet. I thought this was interesting and thought I should share my discoveries, as for the exact location that will remain a mystery wink-fish.gif laughing-fish.gif

That's interesting mate, did you catch some bugs on a line or go for a dive? I bet mulloway would love a bug or two.
Don't reckon I could sacrifice a tasty lil critter like that for donuts though.

Most of my fishing these days is land based game, with the odd gummy and jewie session. Although I still do research jewies alot, but this is out of interest.

On 2 occasions, once myself, once my mate have caught a lone bug whilst snapper fishing, and a few times while floundering we have found them in ppb. Though I have never seen them diving. But every 1 I have seen was quite dirty looking suggesting they spend alot of time burried. Did you dive during the night, or daylight?

There's a lot of PPB bugs in PPB ,

Great eating as well, back in scalloping days i would get a feed every day ,not uncommon to get 20 for a trip as bycatch.

Regards John
