I have a Lowrance HDS10 with a 83/200 transducer on my boat the last few times I have been out the sounder really struggles to show the bottom and give me a depth reading ont the screen, the depth varies from 5-60 metres deep. When I slow to sounding speed about 5-10k's it still wont show me how deep it is? I'm really annoyed with this and want to get it rectified. I'm not Lowrance bashing here as it may just be my bad setup or I could I of stuffed something up in the settings? My transducer was installed for me on the little mounting plate on the back of my boat put there by the boat builder, I cant imagine it would be that mucking things up?

Anyway I was thinking of doing a 'return to factory settings' on it and seeing if that would help with the problem.

Any advice would be great thanks.

So for me to get any reading at all I virtually need to be stopped. And i see HDS uses doing 30 knots still showing the current depth and the bottom showing perfectly and their sounders. mmmmm confused-fish.gif confused-fish.gif confused-fish.gif confused-fish.gif

When you say ' version' do you mean a new software update? I know there has been a lot of issues with the version 4.0 update and I was thinking that this is what my problem is. My transducer is mounted on the factory mounting plate on the bottom of the transom and the boat, transducer and sounder are only one year old so I wouldn't imagine that it would be stuffed?
