Yeah it's unfortunate, not what you'd like to see.

I wouldn't go as far as to say they need to be shot laughing-fish.gif They probably need some educating that's all.

I don't want regulations any more than the next bloke.. And the title isn't the issue here, But it got your attention didn't it?? I'm not about to go shooting anyone..
Bad water management and the fish that die from it is a topic for another day..
I'm wondering if people care at all about the natives in our river systems, the river in question is a well flowing river and fairly clean in comparison to most, but I wouldn't consider it 'healthy' due to the fact that it's over run by euros and catching a nice yella is a rare occurance, yes there is a decent stock of healthy fish between 20 - 25 cms, but too often have I seen these small fish killed for no good reason at all, What happens in 5 years time when a perfectly good fishing hole is full of carp and nothing else due to people killing everything they pull from the water? I won't be very impressed, and I don't think any of you could say you would be happy about it if it was your local fishing hole in question...

I'm not having a go at anyone, I value everyones opinion.. But 7 undersized natives dead on the bank is not a pretty sight

There are always jerks out there in any walk of life, they are just selfish. It's like people who eat takeaway in their car and throw the rubbish under the car and drive off... they just don't care about anyone but themselves. Someone has got to pick up after them.

They'll never get all the yellas, and if you've got little ones then they're either breeding or stocked so you will likely have more in 5 years. If in 5 years it's full of Carp and nothing else then organise some stocking, or just go fishing for the Carp.

You're right it's a stupid waste, and you're right to be annoyed, but it's not the end of the world. A pelican or a cormorant probably eats that in a couple of days.

Karpfen, Everything you said is correct..
Yes a pelican probably would eat that much in a day (although I have never seen one near this river) And they may not get all the yellas, but every one taken out and killed is one less in the water.. And as for fishing for carp, I often throw an extra line out with a bit of bread on just to get 1 or 2 out of the water during a session, and they put up a decent fight..

I'm sorry if I'm sounding like the fish nazi, but I had to vent, and this is a good way to do it..

Cheers

What a defeatist you are.

If the fishing spot get infested with carp, just fish for carp! Great attitude.

(yes i know they are here to stay we will never get rid of them blaa blaa blaa)

And people have the gaul to say Simon bangs the same drum and they are sick of it! confused-fish.gif

Sheesh, i know what attitude i'd rather hear. wink-fish.gif

Perhaps you will tell us what a fresh water Vic or NSW fishing license has to do with salt water?

Nothing worse than a failed troll.
