hi fellas,going to try and catch a feed of yellas this weekend at woolcarlo,i havent fished this area before.will be trolling various lures,casting spinnerbaits and plastics,also bobbing yabbies and worms around any trees and structure we find .any helpfull hints or suggestions on locations would be very gratefull,thanks fellas.

FYI it's Woolgarlo not Woolcarlo... minor detail.
I haven't been there in a while but last time I went the road in was a bit rough, ok for a sedan but maybe difficult if it's been slopped up after a few weeks of rain and you're trying to drag a boat in an out. 4WD would be no worries.
The lake has dropped a fair bit recently down to about 75%, last time we cleaned up in that area trolling tight to the rock walls on small yellow hardbodies. No massive ones but plenty of them. This was probably 3 months ago it was pretty full back then.
The guy at the State Park does a weekly Burrinjuck fishing report, give him a call he might put you on his mailing list.
We were there 4 December, wouldn't say with 3 kids on board we fished much as we spent more time tubing. We did troll for about 30mins and got 2 small yellas so good result for the effort we put in. Acaes is good as the road has been fixed after some recent storms. Do it easy in a two wheel drive vehicle. The lake has dropped and the water out at Woolgarlo is very dirty due to the ski boats chopping it up a bit. Go further into the dam and water clarity improves considerably. Time Spent Fishing Cannot Be Deducted From A Person's Life
Woolgarlo should be fishing ok even though the water level has dropped considerably.
You are pretty spoiled for choice as there is a heap of trees exposed at this water level and bobbing very small yabbies & shrimp (easily caught at the moment) in about 20-30' for water should see you pick up a few. Don't spend too long at any tree (about 15mins max) as you need to move around to find the fish. Any trees around the points or red clay banks are always worth a try.
You can try any of the arms (Yass River or Bidgee) or venture down river a bit towards Burrinjuck Dam(around scrubby flats), as they all fish pretty well at times.
WRT trolling, any of the small/mid size divers (~ 3m deep) in green/yellow/red patterns should see you pick up a few, and if you put on a cod lure you'll be in with a chance as they have been getting a few lately.
Sometimes it can be pretty slow trolling/casting, but bait will nearly always get you a few, especially just on dark.
Make sure you have your rfl on you as the law enforcers are pretty tough (been there done that).
