| No mattg not a pro and no yellowfin either but when you saw us leave we went back in about 4 miles to chase marlin, we got 1 marlin the only 1 we saw .we found a bit of bait but it was holding deep with the current running so hard there has been a few small yellowfin around if you work 80 to 200 fathoms around the stripey schools. |
Ah ha, so what were you guys hooked up to (the other boat too)? I kind of assumed Yellowfin as the longliner was shooting there. I noticed the current running at about at least 2 knots too, not used to that here in vic and made it hard for me to stay on bait we marked. |

Hey Guys,
Just wondering if any bait has turned and whether anyone has managed to jig any Slimies at Bermi. Proved very difficult a month or so ago. Heading up next week, but weather not looking good at all.
Cheers

Plenty of boats stopped out the front on Tues for bait, assume the slimies were on.
Horizontal rain at 35 knots now. Monday a possibility but after that going wild again. _________________ Cheers,

Yeah Biggis, we were due to arrive on Saturday coming, but put it off a few days, so now will be up next Wed. This weather is relentless at the moment, so hope it eases up ....
Cheers

We tried last Thursday and couldn't get a Yakka out front let alone a slimie. Ended up trolling up a couple salmon to use as skip baits instead. Stay safe with all the flooding up that way, heard Bega was facing evacuations. |

We planned to fish last Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Due to weather we only fished Tuesday. Went north all the way up to Turros canyons. Siz Zagged back along the shelf. Saw a few free jumpers and many small schools of frigates (or maybe small stripies), NO BAIT anywhere, we trolled lures and had a dead switch bait ready. Got one stiped marlin about 70kg north and wide of montague.
Another boat got one and we saw a carcass at the boat ramp on Wednesday morning. So there are a few around, but much water between them. |

Yes plenty of boats were towing salmon and bonito which are plentiful around the headlands. So maybe the slimies are light on!
Went to Bega today and road diversions were in place. Roads not as bad as reported, hopefully should be good by next week. Thanks Matt will take it easy on the roads.
If thursday and Friday fall apart next week will pull the pin. Family are here so still things we can do. Friends in 'Bloodsport' are leaving today, planned to be here next week. _________________ Cheers,
