We have run wind-ons on 15 and 10 just to help stuffing around when the fish is below the boat 10 feet, you can horse him up.
Lately though (last year or so) on school fish on 15 and 24 just a double to a snap then the lure leader.
On the big fish which I have so far not become connected to there are many different options and opinions from wind-ons, top-shots, etc. |

Had a strange one today. Just coz I could, I ran a Pakula Rat in frigate colour on the short corner (310mm lure) and it was just sitting dead in the water whilst we cleared the gear after getting a hookup on a Pakula jet head.
I was amazed that the Rat got taken by the biggest fish of the day (25kgs) whilst it was just hanging there! I wonder if it looked a bit like a squid just sitting there? _________________

Reasonably common for deadlures to get smashed whilst the other gear is getting brought in, seen it many times, god knows what they think it is! _________________ Proud Mexican - who needs fast fish and blue water? Well..... I do actually lol

I love it when they take the lure that your clearing. SBT strikes feel awsome on the wind in.
On Sunday they wernt too fussy at Portalnd, jet heads, pushers and divers from 5 to 8 inch from lumo to black, all hit at once.
Didnt get back out Mon, as I nearly sliced the top of my thumb off, bleeding a tuna.
For me regular schools love 6inch cone or pusher in blue/green, bigger modles I run 8 inch pushers in lumo or petro.
I dont generally like to run divers, but often an xrap will find it's way to a corner possie.
